ABOUT US
OUR STORY
The idea for FiberSprung came when Spencer Hering lost a wood-sprung dance floor to a sprinkler system malfunction. Afterwards, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria destroyed a plethora of sprung floors in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico in the summer of 2017, highlighting the need for a flood-proof flooring system. Spencer had built dance floors in the past and got to thinking there has to be a better way.
On his final day as a professional dancer, Spencer brought this idea to product designer Micah Reyes. Micah has a background in composites design through aerospace and yacht design. They quickly realized the potential to use composites such as fiberglass to increase lifetime, improve consistency, and improve the quality of sprung floors. This was when the Research and Development for FiberSprung began.
FiberSprung uses high performance, long lasting composites like fiberglass as a replacement for the wood within basket-weave sprung floors for dance and martial arts. Using structural engineering, FiberSprung floors match the bend characteristics of basket-weave sprung floors and developed and patented an elastomer and aluminum fitting method allowing the fiberglass lattice to be modular and reusable.
We'd love to share our floors with you. Contact us to learn more!
